Count each day as a blessing

Today at church, l was reading the Bible verse for the sermon. Isaiah 5: 1-7. Vineyard principles…. we need to be vineyards that produce fruits. Rather we need to be people that are productive & beneficial in society… using our God-given gifts & talents for the better. Gal 5: 19 to 26- states the vices and virtues that accredit the inheritance of the kingdom of God. We are to practice joy in all circumstances, Peace (Irene in greek)-peace of oneself(inner peace), with others & with God; Gentleness, self-control, long-suffering, kindness, goodness….
This is St.Andrews church, Nairobi.

This is our amazing ministry of the deaf, they were presenting their song here after being commissioned before the Lord, as they will be travelling to Uganda for mission work

We also have a ‘moment for children’… it is so important to dedicate our children to God.

I decided to carry this cute bag with an encouraging message to surround myself with ‘positive vibez only’. Honestly, the tides were a bit low on my end right now, something happened to me recently, you know life with it’s ups and downs.

Of course you all know fashion and style always lifts my spirits 🙂 & chocolate too. lol

Either way, it was such an honour to stand before the congregation of the Lord and we even captured a photo with the amazing clergymen. God bless the work of their hands indeed!!! Amen!

Guess what we were singing? Twasema Asante…. twasema asante – esp coz the sermon was good in line with the re-run elections upcoming soon. The sermon set a calm tone in the congregation.

Our clergy men are dope. So funny and joyful… also importantly, so spirit-filled.

Before I read out the verse, I declared my testimony: that the ‘joy of the Lord is my strength’. Surprisingly, the Reverend also mentioned when speaking of the virtues that we should not confuse joy with happiness. Going through my Bible, I find this note from a previous sermon. I had noted- ‘Joy comes from the Spirit. It is not a human characteristic. Joy is a grateful posture/attitude that does not depend on human characteristics.’ What a spiritually enriching fact to learn, right?

All ya see is joy & strength here right? That’s how it is.

Later,  we had lunch with squad at Two-Rivers mall.
The Colosseum… an Italian inspired restaurant. #muthonitherestaurantblogger and #muthoniandhotels  -check more concerning restaurants & hotels on these hashtags on all social media platforms.

Graceful setup…eigh? mmm

How do you come to such a beautiful serene place, capture such an amazing photo for memory, get to document or feature it on your blogpost and not be happy? How 🙂 #amblessed

This is the colosseum image inside the restaurant… it is an oval amphitheater in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. Built of concrete and sand,[1] it is the largest amphitheater ever built. The Colosseum is situated just east of the Roman Forum. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in AD 72, and was completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir Titus.
Italy in Kenya no?

Was nice. I had red snapper. I wish they dried it first before making it wet with the tomato sauce… I like my fish a bit crispy… as if not dried it has the raw- sea taste….& the herbs plus olives didn’t jazz me so much. I just don’t fancy olives. Eitherway, the waiter asked me ‘how I found my food & l did share my sentiments.’

See— these fries be kidogo, lol, tuliongezewa fries saucer. For Kshs.1600 plus per plate, make sure ushibe. lolest

But their fries were great, though they put kidogo; so my dad be like “the girls are saying the fries be kidogo though…” lol….. they gave us more. Those fries were heavenly I tell you… that’s why we couldn’t even resist asking for more.

My sister had lasagne -she loves lasagne. It was so well-made.

Perfect lasagne my guy,,,,perfecto.

Now, this day comes at a point where l was on a bit of a downward spiral, as earlier mentioned. That’s why it’s so special for me to narrate so that l count my blessing of being able to have family & visit the mall, it was relaxing. Also to have the privilege of being fed both spiritually, physically & also mentally. To hear God’s word & strive to apply it in my life. May I be good, gentle, kind, patient, productive etc. I plan to do this through the extensive community & social work am currently involved in. Giving back is always a blessing & brings out good virtues from within us. It’s better to give than to receive…. Acts 20:35 (King James Version): I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Additionally,

Philippians 4:8King James Version (KJV)

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Honestly, I loooove the Bible. It is God in words and comforts me so much in so many situations. I have hope and am not ashamed to be a strong believer.I also desire to always brand my work God. With God by my side, who can stand against me? God is the greatest foundation.

How about you my dear reader? Are you a fruitful vineyard, Are you branding your work and life God? Are you practicing godly virtues at all times? Are you constantly joyful? Are you counting yo blessings naming them one by one? ~foodforthought.

That was me Sunday. Day well spent. Blessed day of God. Counted blessing.
